Emergency Dental Treatment in New York & Connecticut

A dental emergency rarely waits for a convenient moment. A tooth cracks during dinner, an old crown falls out on a Friday night, or a dull ache turns into throbbing pain that keeps you awake. When that happens, you need a team that can see you quickly, find the real source of the problem, and treat it — often in a single visit. GD Dentistry provides urgent dental care at our offices in Brooklyn, Garden City, Trumbull, and Stamford, with same-day appointments reserved for patients in pain.

What Counts as a Dental Emergency?

If you are hurting, bleeding, or worried about losing a tooth, treat it as an emergency and call us. The most common situations we handle include:

Infection is the one you should never wait on. A dental abscess can spread beyond the tooth within days, turning a straightforward root canal into a hospital-level problem. Fast treatment protects both your tooth and your overall health.

How We Diagnose and Treat Urgent Cases

Guesswork has no place in emergency care. Every urgent visit at GD Dentistry starts with a focused exam and 3D CBCT imaging, which shows us the tooth, roots, nerves, and surrounding bone in far more detail than a standard X-ray. That means we can tell you exactly what is wrong and what it will take to fix it — before we touch the tooth.

Our first priority is getting you out of pain. From there, most emergencies are resolved on the spot: fillings replaced, infections treated, fractured teeth stabilized. Because we place same-day CEREC crowns in-house, a broken tooth that would take other offices two or three visits to restore can often leave our chair fully repaired the same day.

Anxious About Emergency Dental Work?

Pain and fear tend to arrive together. Many patients delay emergency care because past dental experiences left them anxious — and the delay makes everything worse. We offer sedation dentistry, including IV sedation for truly phobic patients, so you can get urgent treatment done comfortably instead of putting it off.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a same-day emergency dental appointment?

Yes. We hold time in our daily schedules for urgent cases at all locations. Call the office nearest you and describe your symptoms — patients in pain or with signs of infection are seen first.

How do I know if my toothache is an emergency?

Pain that lasts more than a day, wakes you at night, or comes with swelling, fever, or a bad taste in your mouth points to infection and should be treated as an emergency. Mild, brief sensitivity can usually wait for a regular appointment.

Will you fix my tooth on the same visit?

In most cases, yes. With CBCT imaging, an in-house lab, and CEREC same-day crowns, we can diagnose and complete most emergency repairs in one appointment rather than sending you home with a temporary.

What if a knocked-out tooth can’t be saved?

We will stabilize the area, manage the pain, and walk you through replacement options — including dental implants — during a free consultation with a free first CT scan.
